Fig and Prosciutto Pizza - Pina Bresciani

Gay Cruise Bars Phoenix

Pina Bresciani gave us the idea for this Fig and Prosciutto Pizza, which has both sweet and savory flavors. There is a wonderful taste sensation when you mix fig jam, fresh figs, salty prosciutto, and creamy goat cheese. This pizza is the perfect mix of tastes and textures, with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh arugula on top.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup fig jam
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6-8 fresh figs, sliced
  • 4-6 slices of prosciutto
  • 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese
  • 1/4 cup arugula
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 475F 245C and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up

Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or another baking sheet dusted with cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking

Spread a generous layer of fig jam over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges

Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the fig jam

Arrange the sliced fresh figs and prosciutto slices on top of the cheese

Drizzle a little olive oil over the pizza and season with salt and pepper to taste

Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned

Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately sprinkle crumbled goat cheese over the hot pizza

Top with fresh arugula and drizzle with balsamic glaze

Slice and serve your Fig and Prosciutto Pizza hot, garnished with additional arugula if desired
